West Point Command & Leadership Program - North Cl - The NJSACOP's prestigious West Point Command & Leadership Program has two sessions per year in both the north (Morris Coiunty Fire & Police Academy) and south at the Anthony Canale Police Training Center in Atlantic County. A new central area WPC&L class has been recently added which will be conducted at the Burlington County Police Academy.

Chiefs Support Troops / Pancake Breakfast - A number of area Chiefs, active and retired, were on hand for the "Support the Troops" pancake breakfast in Lawrenceville, NJ on Sunday, April 13, 2008. More than 3,000 local residents and elected officials from federal, state, county, and municipal governments turned out for the breakfast which raised close to $80,000 for the New Jersey National Guard Family Readiness Council. 200 police personnel representing departments and agencies from across the state will be among the 3,500 National Guard troops deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan in the coming months.

Revolutionary War Staff Ride for Law Enforcement - On Monday, April 21, 2008 the NJSACOP hosted a one-day staff ride for Law Enforcement which included visits to Washington's Crossing State Park, the Trenton Battle Monument, the Old Barracks, Mill Hill, Princeton Battlefield, and Nassau Hall at Princeton University; all sites of important military encounters during the 10 days that changed the world. 18 Chiefs of Police were among the 47 senior law enforcement personnel from departments and agencies from throughout the state who participated in the historic study of Washington's and Cornwallis' war-time leadership and management styles.

New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram was the featured guest speaker. Additional presentations included briefings by Pam Fischer, Director, NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety, Morris County Police Academy Director Daniel H. Colucci and Cape May County Director, Gary G. Schaffer, and Fremont, California Police Chief Craig T. Steckler, candidate for IACP Executive Board.

West Point Command & Leadership - Spring 2008 - The NJSACOP's West Point Command & Leadership Program conducted a graduation ceremony for the Spring 2008 north & south classes at the Trenton Country Club on May 8, 2008.

Burlington County Chiefs meeting 5-15-08 - Monthly meeting of the Burlington County Police Chiefs Association.

2008 Law Enforcement Memorial - For the past 24 years, the NJSACOP and the NJPCF (New Jersey Police Chiefs Foundation) sponsored the oldest state-wide tribute to fallen law enforcement officers in the nation. The moving ceremony, which honors the memories of all New Jersey law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, takes place at the historic Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. In addition to Governor Jon Corzine and New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram, representatives of New Jersey's Law Enforcement community from throughout the state participated.

2008 Law Enforcement Challenge - NJSACOP hosted the 3rd Annual Law Enforcement Challenge Awards Luncheon on May 21, 2008. The event which took place at the Holiday Inn / National Conference Center in East Windsor, honored police departments and agencies for excellence in traffic safety efforts. Pam Fischer, Director, New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety was the guest speaker. Tom Luiso, Regional Administrator for NHTSA joined NJSACOP President Chief Robert Kugler and Ms. Fischer to present the awards.

NJSACOP Monthly Members brief - June 2008 - The June monthly NJSACOP membership meeting featured several guest speakers to include PBA President Tony Wieners, SFC Jim Sherrard, NJSP, and Caroline Barnes, Chief, Intelligence Bureau, NJ Department of Homeland Security & Preparedness. Two new members were sworn-in: Chief Kenneth Bird, Somerset County Sheriff's Office and River Edge Police Chief Tom Cariddi; and Chief John R. LaGreca of East Rutherford announced his retirement after completing his 40th year in law enforcement. Bergenfield PD was presented with its Accreditration Certificate.

MADD Law Enforcement Recognition - The New Jersey Chapter of MADD conducted its 1st Annual Statewide Law Enforcement Recognition ceremony at Pierre's restaurant in Monmouth Junction on June 11, 2008. A number of Chiefs of Police attended the event to support the officers from their respective departments who received awards as well as to demonstrate their overall support for MADD's efforts to put an end to alcohol related injuries and fatalities.

NJSACOP 96th Annual Training Conference - The NJSACOP 96th Annual Training Conference / 22nd Police Security EXPO took place June 23-26, 2008 at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel / New Convention Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Highlights of the events included the installation of the NJSACOP 2008-2009 Board of Officers, the presentation of the NJSACOP Valor Awards, President's Award, Chief Sandy Danco Service Award, world class seminars by Investigator Rich Norcross, Camden County Prosecutor's Office; and Col. W. Steven Flaherty Virginia State Police and Virginia Tech Police Chief Wendell Flinchum. NJSACOP Sponsor Appreciation awards also were presented at the Chiefs Welcome Night ceremonies on Monday night, June 23rd.
