NJSACOP & NHTSA

The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police [NJSACOP] has been awarded a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration [NHTSA] to provide the Law Enforcement Liaison [LEL] for the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania region.  This is a great honor and responsibility for the NJSACOP, and the association is proud to have Chief John Coyle (Ret.) as the Regional LEL under the grant.

Each NHTSA regional office now includes a Regional Law Enforcement Liaison. The Regional LELs work with the NHTSA headquarters, regional offices, state highway safety offices, and partners at the national and local level to implement high visibility traffic safety enforcement programs.

The LEL encourages law enforcement and government entities to take the lead in promoting NHTSA's national programs, enforcement and educational efforts and campaigns.  The LEL also serves as an advocate for law enforcement in the region.
